It’s not enough to protect the Earth. We’re on a mission to restore it.

A lot of organizations will slap “sustainability” on their packaging and stop there. Saying it certainly doesn’t help anybody, and “sustainability” is just the start. But we’re in it for the long haul, so we go beyond sustainability. We’re committed to regenerative agriculture, holistic farming practices that reverse the negative effects of farming by helping to rebuild the soil and restore biodiversity.

IT’S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE

It doesn’t take a farmer to tell you our natural resources are becoming increasingly strained (and yet, here we are), whether due to climate or regulatory changes. It’s never been more important for the people closest to the Earth—farmers—to roll up their sleeves and dig in to preserve and restore our environment, today and for generations to come.

We’re not just rolling up our sleeves. We’re tearing them off.

On our family ranch in Sonora, California, we’re fanatical about advancing independent and regenerative agriculture for everyone.From pioneering new best practices for the industry to improving our operations here at home, we’re always looking for ways to make our farm and our products better for our customers, our community, and our planet.

THAT GOOD S%*T

Most food today contains only a fraction of the nutrient value it used to. We’re doing what we can to change that by making repairing soil health a top priority.

A lot of operations send their organic waste to landfills, where it can’t help anybody. We turn ours into a valuable, nutrient-dense compost that goes the extra pile by helping to create a healthy, diverse environment for microbiology to thrive no matter where it’s used. What’s more, it helps to ensure that anybody who uses our compost anywhere—from other commercial farmers to small school gardens—doesn’t need to use artificial fertilizers or chemicals.
WATER USAGE

RECLAIM, REUSE, RESTORE

If there’s an M.V.R. (that’s most valuable resource), it’s water. Most farms rely on water that’s been chemically treated and transported by dirty, corroded pipes. By the time it reaches the farm, it needs to be treated again to keep the animals from getting sick from the bacteria it holds.

At Diestel Family Ranch, we use fresh well water and clean our barns and pipes regularly with probiotics (not chemicals) to create a healthy microbial environment. What water we do use, we treat using a state-of-the-art membrane water filtration technology, eliminating the need for chemicals. What’s more, it drastically reduces the amount of fresh groundwater we need, as well as minimizing our impact on the environment.

Not because it makes us feel good, but because it’s the right thing to do. And we’d be lying if we said it didn’t feel good.
